How I See It

Are these situations ok or not? Are they abusive situations or not?
Have any of these situations happened to you?

  • Some kids throw your bag in the bushes after school. You try to stand up for yourself but they beat you up and say that they'll get you again tomorrow if you tell anyone.
  • You are staying at a friend's house. You are in the shower and your friend's stepfather comes in and asks you if you want a hand.
  • You notice that your best friend's mother calls him/her mean names. She always says things like, "You're useless, you're lazy and you're clumsy". Your friend's mum hardly ever says nice things to your friend.
  • Your brother/sister (or other relative) tells you that they have been raped.
  • The boys always call one of the girls in your class "Barbie-doll". She tells them she doesn't want to be called that.
  • Someone gets into bed with you and starts to take off your pyjamas.
  • Your friend is embarrassed because every time she has her period, she has to see the school nurse for tampons because her parents don't give her any.
  • There is a kid in your class who wears unusual clothes and doesn't have any friends. Kids tease him a lot and he is always left out of group activities.
  • Your friend tells you that he has been making his cousin kiss his penis.
  • A boy/girl you really like kisses you with their tongue.
  • A friend of your family is taking some photos of you. He asks you to take off your shorts and tee shirt and tells you that you have a nice body.
