Activity Three
(ages 11 - 13)
Key points
Share problems in the family
Before you begin the activity
Tell your child, "All families have their ups and downs,
arguments and problems. Bigger and more serious problems can happen
when people in the family don't share their problems with one
another and family members feel like they can't cope. It is important
for family members to talk about things that are making them feel
worried, upset, stressed, angry or unable to cope. Talking about
problems is the start of solving them."
Activity
This activity has been designed to involve everyone in the home.
Each person records examples of when they feel happy, relaxed,
worried, upset, stressed, angry and unable to cope. (See activity
Family Feelings.) Write
your name beside each of the statements you make. If someone else
has already recorded something that you were going to write, simply
write your name beside his or her name and statement. You may
wish to discuss the chart. See front page of Activity
Four.
When you have finished the activity
Put your completed activity sheet on display as agreed between
you.
