Activity Four
(ages 11 - 13)
Key points
Families can work together to solve problems
Before you begin the activity
Look at the activity sheet from the last session (Family
Feelings). Family members have identified times when they
feel happy, worried, upset, angry, stressed and unable to cope.
Discuss statements made by other family members, especially if
there are similar statements made by two or more family members
and also things you may not have known about other family members.
| eg |
"It's nice that watering the garden makes you feel
happy, Mum." |
| |
"I didn't know that you feel stressed before an exam,
Helen." |
Activity
This activity has been designed to involve everyone in the home.
Using the suggestions in Our
Family Support System, and strategies of your own, complete
Our Family Agreement. The
family agreement can remind family members of ways they can support
one another.
a) Read these and add any of your own ideas.
b) Discuss the ideas and complete the captions on Our Family
Agreement with family, friends or members of your group.
Please design it to meet your needs.
When you have finished the activity
Encourage all family members to contribute suggestions and to
sign the agreement. This will help them to feel ownership of it.
Put your completed activity sheet on display as agreed between
you.
